The Perfect Employee: A Lifetime of Stability

A two-panel satirical office comic. In the first panel, Norman Gris, an aging office worker, is grotesquely fused with his desk—his fingers merged with the keyboard, his face part of a glowing monitor, and office paperwork sprouting from his back like a second spine. His boss, grinning, congratulates him for 40 years of risk-free work, while a coworker nervously sips coffee. The second panel shows a new intern staring in horror as Norman spits out a printed report from his mouth. His boss, still smiling, reassures the intern: “Stick around long enough, and you might just get there too!”
Some people retire with a pension. Norman Gris retired as office equipment.
